Retirement Plan Information  (if unsure which plan you are enrolled in, login to your MiAccount for your benefit plan name)


If you first began working for a public school on or after July 1, 2010, you are enrolled in one of the following plans:

If you began public school employment on or after Jan. 1, 1990, but before July 1, 2010, (or were Basic and elected MIP during the enrollment) you are in the Member Investment Plan (MIP). 

  • MIP - Member Investment Plan (includes all 5 benefit plan structures within MIP- MIP Fixed, MIP Graded, MIP Plus, MIP 7%, and MIP DC Converted)

If you began public school employment before Jan. 1, 1990, and did not elect MIP during the MIP enrollment periods, you are in the Basic Plan.

  • Basic Plan (includes all 3 benefit plan structures within Basic- Basic, Basic4%, and Basic DC Converted)

Voluntary Retirement 403(b) plan

A 403(b) plan allows you to save for retirement on a tax-deferred basis. Your contributions are voluntary, and you can choose the amount based on your retirement goals. Ulliance Employee Assistance Program

Group Insurance

Wondering when you can make a change to your health coverage? This is allowable under either of the following circumstances: 

  1. During annual open enrollment, currently held in November for January 1 plan effective date.
  2. Within 30 days of a life event

Health Savings Account

Employees who are enrolled in a high deductible health plan qualify for a Health Savings Account (HSA) under IRS regulations. MOISD uses HealthEquity to administer all employee HSA. Explore the resources below to learn more about the benefits and uses:
